Portable Mason Jar Salads

preparation 10 minutes | cooking 0 hours | servings 1 cup These are great! No soggy lettuce due to the stacking method. Attractive and colourful, and packed with vitality! Perfect to make ahead of time and grab for work or school. I always get comments when I take my jar salad to work!

Method;

1.The dressing must go in first. This is why it works so well! 2.Next add a chunky ingredient. It acts as a buffer to prevent other ingredients getting soggy. Things like nuts, croutons, cucumber cubes, and cherry tomatoes work well.

3.Third add any fine and grated additions that you don’t want to get wet - like shaved nuts, seeds, cheese, grated carrot, sprouts, etc.

4.Now add your protein of choice. 5.Finally, leafy greens go on top. Edible flowers can go here too. To serve, tip upside down onto a plate, and viola! Perfect salad ready to eat.
